Aaliyah Dana Haughton burst into fame in 1994, after she debuted her first album Age Ain't nothing but a number. It was Gold at the age of 15 years old. R. Kelly was a significant influence in this project which brought her into the limelight. In 1996 she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland on her sophomore studio album One In A Million, which featured the #1 hit track If Your Girl Only knew. Aaliyah was recognized internationally as an R&B performer with their release of the second album, One In A Million. In 2000, she starred alongside the famous martial arts star Jet Li for the film Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver spotted her in an awards show. Queen of the Damned was her first role in 2002. It's based on The Anne Rice novel. The Matrix Sequels followed, with Zee as the lead character. The singer has received four Grammy nominations from 1999 to 2003. She is an Indian-American of first generation of origin born in Connecticut. Mann is a contraction of her husband's first name Mankad. Aarti Magnumdar, her formal name. She also uses Aarti Magumdar for her stage name. She began her acting career with minor TV and film parts, however her fame was growing in the late 2000s. Alongside The Big Bang Theory, her notable other works include Leverage (2013) Suits (2014) and Grey's Anatomy (2017.) In addition, she has appeared in important commercials for brands like Volvo the world's largest auto maker. She currently lives in Los Angeles along with her wife, son and daughter. She also pursues her acting career.
